Prisoners Pardoned (HO 13 - from 1782)


The Home Secretary kept copies of his correspondence relating to prisoners and their supporters in the Criminal Entry Books.


Each original volume covers a year or more and contains a contemporary listing of names in sections relating to:


u pardons (free and conditional) u references

u remissions u respites

u warrants particular


The indexes correspond to the originals and give details of name, alias, court, notes, type of record and TNA reference. The whole of England & Wales is covered in each volume.




Six volumes were formerly available on floppy disk and microfiche. Currently unavailable, this series is awaiting an update and conversion to CD.
